216 Wellington St., Kitchener (Berlin)

Two photos of 216 Wellington St., in Kitchener or the former Berlin. I am guessing that a Stricker lived here but am unsure. Hopefully I can do a title search at the land registry office and find out some details. if you know or think you know, please share.

Philip & Amanda Stricker - Early Years

Well it looks like one of the mysteries was solved as I am quite confident that the man in both photographs is Philip Stricker and the woman on the inside of each photo is Amanda Reichert (Philip's wife). These photos must be from the 1870's as both were born in 1851 and marriages usually occurred in one's twenties.

The woman to Philip's right in the photo of three people is unknown - perhaps a sister of him or Amanda.

Stricker/Lasso Children?

The girl on the far right is Lillian Stricker (daughter of Albert Stricker - Philip's son). I think that the boy to her right may be Harold Lasso and the boy sitting down on the far right may be Perlous Lasso.

The rest may be other children from school, church or the neighbourhood.

Are you able to identify any others?

Stricker House in Bridgeport?

This is most likely Philip Stricker's house. To the best of my father's memory, it is near Bridge Street east and Bloomingdale Road in Kitchener or the former Bridgeport, Ontario.

I can't find any homes in the area that have a similar shape but many seem to have been torn down to build warehouses and the like.

Do you have any photos of visits to relatives that show the house or others. I will eventually do a land search but I haven't had the time as of yet.

I can see Philip with his horse and dog out front. Ella Stricker is in front of the fence. It looks like Albert is holdng a child which could be his first born, Lillian and perhaps his wife Adeline Schafer is on the other side of Ella. It looks like Amanda Reichert is sittin gon the porch to the right and perhaps Laura Stricker (Lasso) is sitting on the left. Laura's husband William Lasso build a house at 28 Bloomingdale Road which should be rather close to this house if it's where I think.

Stricker Ladies?

Anyone up for some guesses?

Stricker Farm House?

I'm not sure who these people are nor where this is located.

I am guessing these are Strickers but I'm not sure.

Guess away folks!

Laura Stricker and ?

The fellow in the middle is in a few photos I have but I can't identify him. The female on the left is also a mystery. The female on the right is Laura Stricker.

I am rather sure that the fellow is not Laura's brother Albert as he looks very different from other photos of Albert.

Any leads?

Stricker Family After Philip?

Since this photo doesn't have Philip, it could mean that it was taken after his passing in 1923. His wife, Amanda Reichert, is seated in the middle with a shall over her shoulders. Ella Stricker is to her immediate right. It looks like Laura Stricker (Lasso) is behind her her to the right and perhaps her husband, William Lasso, is seated to Amanda's far left.

The rest are a mystery to me.

Philip Stricker's Extended Family?

The whose who of the Strickers is driving me mad!! This photo has Philip Stricker seated with someone's arm on his shoulder. His wife Amanda Reichert is the one standing to his left a few people over with the shall around her. The other people may be brothers or sisters? Any help would be appreciated!

Philip Stricker's Family

This is a photo of Philip Stricker's family just after 1900 and I think I can identify most of the people.

2nd Row L-R - ?, Philip Stricker, Amanda Stricker (Reichert), Harold Lasso, William Lasso, Unknown Man, Thomas Hewitt?
1st Row L-R - Withroe Hewitt, Angeline Hewitt (Stricker), Laura Stricker, Ella Stricker, Unknown Man

I have to confirm when Withroe Hewitt was born to confirm this but if he was born in the late 1890's then this would all make sense.

Philip Stricker's House?

This blog is one of a number that I have or will be creating to post photos of which I can't identify all the people or places. If you can help me or share this blog with other relatives who may be able to help me, it would be most appreciated.

This photo was found among other Stricker family photos. The Stricker family lived in various places in Woolwich Township, Waterloo County. This could be a house in the former Bridgeport, Ontario near the corner of Bridge St. and Bloomingdale Rd. that belonged to Philip Stricker but I don't think so. The people in the photo also don't look familiar. If you can help me out, it would be much appreciated.
